Saaketh Desai

Saaketh Desai currently serves as a Staff Scientist and previously as a Postdoctoral Appointee at Sandia National Laboratories since March 2021, focusing on machine learning applications in computational materials science and autonomous optics experiments. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at Purdue University from August 2015 to December 2020, where Saaketh developed innovative atomistic models, designed shape memory alloys, and created educational tools, as well as a summer internship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory enhancing neural network efficiency. Earlier, Saaketh conducted research at the University of Muenster and worked as a Summer Engineering Intern at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. Saaketh holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Purdue University and a B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
