Sharon Jan

Sharon Jan is a highly experienced researcher currently serving as a Postdoctoral Appointee at Sandia National Laboratories since January 2024. Previously, Sharon worked at UC Irvine from September 2017 to December 2023 as an Assistant Specialist and Graduate Student Researcher, focusing on the immunological responses and vaccine efficacy for Coxiella burnetii and other pathogens. In this role, Sharon was responsible for communicating with funding sources and composing necessary documentation for high containment approvals. Additionally, Sharon held the position of Editor-in-Chief for the BESTern and Newsletter at GPS-STEM, where innovative programming for graduate professional success was developed, and communication efforts were enhanced. Earlier experience includes research positions at Stanford University, the Animal Health Research Institute, and the University of California, Davis, culminating in a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from UC Irvine and a BS in Microbiology with a minor in Environmental Toxicology from UC Davis.
