Estelle Sandhaus

Director, Conservation & Science at Santa Barbara Zoo

Estelle Sandhaus has been working at the Santa Barbara Zoo since January 2006, starting as the Conservation and Research Coordinator, eventually moving up to Assistant Director, Director of Conservation and Research, and currently serving as the Director of Conservation and Science. Outside of the zoo, Estelle worked at Zoo Atlanta as a Research Associate. Estelle also co-produced and co-hosted a weekly Zoological Radio show in collaboration with KCLU FM Public Radio. Education wise, Estelle holds a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Cognition and Brain Science and a minor in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego.
