Karl Schirrmacher

Karl Schirrmacher has an extensive background in security, military leadership, and entrepreneurship. Currently employed as a Correctional Officer at Santa Cruz County Sheriff Dept since December 2017, Karl previously served in the US Army from July 2013 to March 2019 as a Civil Affairs Team Sergeant. As the Founder and Digital Content Author for The Black Toenail from March 2016 to December 2018, Karl demonstrated creativity and digital expertise. Additional experience includes working as a Security Emergency Dispatcher for Facebook, where responsibilities encompassed emergency response and communication management, and as an Advanced Civil Information Instructor at Telum Corporation. Karl held various roles at ATLAS Lift Tech, including Director of Operations for Northern California, and served in security roles with the United States Army Reserve and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Karl earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations from the University of Phoenix.
