I have been an educator since 1998, with most of my experience spent in service to public schools. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I then earned three Master of Arts Degrees, one in French and one in Education from UC Santa Barbara, as well as a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from California State University, Northridge, along with an Administrative Services credential. My personal and professional experiences in both public and international schools have grounded me in my commitment to help build systems that serve all students and ensure their equitable access to opportunity, growth, and achievement. My passion is creating and supporting cross-disciplinary curriculum that engages students, is culturally responsive, is inquiry-based, and facilitates community engagement through collaborative problem-solving.
I support teachers and the district in a variety of ways: understanding and developing our TK-6 curriculum & assessments, developing & launching new units of study, planning for differentiation using a variety of pedagogical strategies, understanding & analyzing data, co-teaching/modeling, and providing professional development. Fun fact
My best friend and her family are Dutch-American and live in The Netherlands. I am learning Dutch and the prononunciation is hard--literally (like coughing up a hairball!)!
Personal Q&A
If you didn't have this job, what would you be doing instead?
I always wanted to be a teacher, but if I were to do something else, I would be interested in being an architect, a veterinarian, a writer--so many possibilities!
