Sarah Targownik

Sarah Targownik has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Sarah is currently serving as the Manager of TMF Operations at Sarah Cannon since September 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at Syneos Health Clinical Solutions as a TMF Lead II from March 2021 to July 2022. Sarah also had a long tenure at The University of New Mexico, serving as the Outreach & Education Manager for the IRB from June 2015 to July 2022. Before that, they worked at United BioSource Corporation as a Senior Reg Doc Specialist from May 2013 to June 2015. Sarah's extensive background also includes working at Quintiles, where they held various positions such as Quality Assurance Auditor, Clinical Project Specialist, and Senior Clinical Trial Assistant from 2004 to 2013. Prior to their career in clinical research, they practiced as a Clinical Social Worker in different medical settings from 1989 to 2004. Sarah's work experience dates back to their time as a U.S. Senate Page from January 1979 to June 1980.

Sarah Targownik's education history begins with their receiving a High School Diploma from Capitol Page School in 1980. Afterward, they attended Georgetown University from 1980 to 1985, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Following a gap of two years, from 1985 to 1987, they pursued further education at the University of Kansas, where they obtained a Masters degree in Clinical/Medical Social Work from 1987 to 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Sarah Targownik has obtained several certifications. In September 2012, they achieved expert-level certification in GCP (Good Clinical Practice). Sarah went on to acquire a license as a Licensed Masters Level Social Worker in the state of New Mexico, granted by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in November 2015. Sarah further obtained the LMSW (Licensed Masters Level Social Worker) designation from the New Mexico Board of Social Workers in October 2015. Lastly, in September 2017, they became a Certified IRB Professional through PRIM&R (Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research).
