Edwin Sia Sien Aun

Edwin Sia Sien Aun is a Senior Biologist at Sarawak Energy Berhad since October 2019, with prior experience as a Biologist and an Asian Polar Science Fellowship Program Fellow at the Korean Polar Research Institute in late 2017. During the fellowship, Edwin conducted research on microbial communities in tropical and arctic peat and developed bioinformatics pipelines for sequence analysis. Additional experience includes student attachments at the National Oceanography Centre and State Key Laboratory for Estuarine and Coastal Research, where skills in particle size distribution and nutrient analysis were gained. Edwin also worked as a research assistant at the Earth Observatory Singapore, focusing on climate reconstruction and geochemical processes. Education includes a PhD in Biogeochemistry/Microbial Ecology and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Swinburne University of Technology.
