Matthew Torok has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics and electro-mechanical design. Matthew has held leadership positions at various companies, including Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation, where they served as a Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer and designed complex end of arm tooling for baggage handling. Matthew also worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the same company. Prior to that, they were a Consultant Mechanical Engineer at Cambridge Design Partnership.
Matthew also has experience in the technology industry, having worked at Apple as a Senior Product Design Engineer and a Product Design Engineer in the Special Projects Group. In these roles, they were responsible for mechanical and electro-mechanical actuator research and development, as well as leading multiple engineering efforts in electronics packaging and thermal systems development.
Before joining Apple, Matthew worked at Kitty Hawk as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed and implemented various aircraft subsystems for an electric propulsion manned aircraft. Matthew's early career includes roles as an Engineering Intern at ExxonMobil, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Clemson University. Matthew also worked as a Quality Assurance Assistant at OSIsoft. Matthew Torok completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 2010. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2010 to 2012.
