Willie Barkhuizen

Willie Barkhuizen has a diverse work experience spanning over several positions and companies. Willie started their career in 1993 as an OD and Talent Specialist at a State Agency before moving to Sasol in 1998. At Sasol, they held various roles including Vice President of Leadership Capability and Culture, Vice President of Group HR Planning and Strategic Projects, Vice President of People and Organizational Effectiveness, and General Manager positions in different departments such as Business Excellence and Service Management, Global HR Shared Services, and Secunda Shared Services. Throughout their roles, Willie has demonstrated expertise in executive leadership, culture development, HR strategy, M&A support, and service management. Their tenure at Sasol lasted until at least 2020.

Willie Barkhuizen attended GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) in 2010 but did not obtain a degree or study a specific field. In 2004, they attended the University of Cape Town for a course on Executive HR Leadership. Their highest level of education was an Honours Degree (Cum Laude) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology which they obtained at the University of the Free State from 1988 to 1991.
