Javier Marín

Javier Marín has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Javier began their career as an Assistant Professor at UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2010 and held the role until 2013. Following this, they worked at Starlab Barcelona S.L. as a Researcher and Project Manager from July 2013 to August 2015. Javier then joined Delphi Deutschland GmbH as an Algorithm Development Engineer - Camera / Driver Assistance from September 2015 to September 2016. Javier moved on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate from November 2016 to October 2017. Javier continued their affiliation with MIT as a Research Affiliate from January 2018 to January 2019. In 2014, Javier returned to UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona as a Lecturer and held the position until 2016. Javier joined Satellogic in 2018 and held various positions there, including Senior Data Scientist, Head of Data Science, AI guild leader, and finally Director of Applied AI. Javier also served as an Adjunct Professor at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya from February 2022 to February 2023. Currently, they are working as an Advisor at Happyrobot and is due to take up a role as a Career Counselor at IE University in April 2023.

Javier Marín has a diverse education history. Javier completed a Leadership and Management Skills Course for Scientists, developed and conducted by hfp consulting, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017. Also in 2017, they completed the Kaufman Teaching Certificate Program at the same institution. Javier holds a Ph.D. in Computer Vision from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which they obtained in 2013. Javier also earned an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision from the same university in 2009. In 2008, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics) from the Universitat de les Illes Balears. Lastly, in 2007, they completed their undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the same university. Javier also holds an additional certification in SQL for Data Science from the University of California, Davis.
