Abdulaziz Abanmi

Abdulaziz Abanmi has extensive work experience in the technology and banking sectors. Abdulaziz is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at SAUDI PAYMENTS since August 2022. Prior to this, Abdulaziz worked as the VP Technology at SAUDI PAYMENTS from July 2018 to August 2022.

Before joining SAUDI PAYMENTS, Abdulaziz worked at SABB, where they held various roles from 2006 to 2018. Abdulaziz served as the Head of IT Development from May 2016 to June 2018 and as the Head of IT Quality and Governance from June 2014 to May 2016. Abdulaziz also worked as the Senior Manager Development Services from June 2013 to June 2014, during which they led the Cards & Automated Delivery Channels unit and managed the implementation of the VISA Debit Card at SABB.

Additionally, Abdulaziz held the position of Manager Development Services from June 2011 to June 2013, where they successfully managed the implementation of the Fraud Monitoring System, migration of SABB e-commerce merchants to MiGS, and implementation of the 3D Secure solution for credit cards. Abdulaziz also served as the Development Team Leader from June 2007 to June 2013, managing the development and production support of the credit card system at SABB. Furthermore, Abdulaziz worked as the ATM Project Leader from April 2006 to June 2007.

Abdulaziz Abanmi began their career as a Computer Engineer at Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency - SAMA in June 2003. Abdulaziz worked on the SPAN2 Project, where they played various roles such as Testing Specialist and IST Administrator. Abdulaziz successfully managed the migration of SAMA's ATMs to the new switch during their tenure at SAMA, which lasted until April 2006.

Abdulaziz Abanmi completed a Saudi Digital Academy Executive Program in Digital Leadership at INSEAD in 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Software Engineering from Prince Sultan University in 2015. Abdulaziz's education journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from King Saud University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003.
