Vahid Majidi has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles within the science, technology, and national security sectors. Vahid currently serves as the Director at Savannah River National Laboratory. Prior to this, they were the Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT), where their focus was on national security solutions. Vahid has also held positions such as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters at the United States Department of Defense, Program Manager/Chief Scientist for Infrastructure Protection at TASC, and Interim Director at University Multispectral Laboratories. Vahid has worked at prestigious institutions like the FBI, where they served as the Assistant Director for Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, and Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they held the position of Division Director for the Chemistry Division. Additionally, Vahid has served as the Chief Science Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Kentucky. Their expertise lies in areas such as national security, scientific research, technology development, and strategic initiatives.
Vahid Majidi has a strong education in Chemistry. Vahid obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University in 1983. Vahid then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University from 1983 to 1987. After that, they continued their academic journey as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin from 1987 to 1989.
