Matthew McIntire began their work experience in 2002 as a Millwright at Rock Creek Mill, where they worked until 2008. In 2005, they briefly served as the Acting Manager at Pacific Timber Products. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Ministry Site Leader at Students International. Following this, they joined Oregon State University in 2012 as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they gained teaching experience and conducted research on topics such as optimization under uncertainty and fault propagation simulation. During this time, they also developed a computational framework for multi-reservoir systems. In 2018, McIntire joined SavantX as a Scientific Programmer. No specific end dates are provided for their current role at SavantX or their previous roles at Oregon State University and Students International.

McIntire Matthew obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Applied Science from Seattle Pacific University, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. Later, they pursued a higher degree, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University between 2012 and 2017.
