William Steadman

William Steadman has a diverse work experience that spans a variety of roles and industries. William is currently working at Qruise as a Scientific Programmer since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Deutsche Bahn from July 2020 to October 2022 as an Expert Operations Research. During their time there, they were involved in the development of a flow-based MIP model in C++ for train scheduling and managed a project to evaluate quantum algorithms for train dispatch problems.

Before joining Deutsche Bahn, William was self-employed from April 2019 to July 2020, working as an Optimization Consultant. William worked with Vattenfall to manage the transition of models and performed infeasibility analysis. Additionally, they worked for Spire Global as a Computer Modeler from March 2017 to April 2019, where they were responsible for the initial development of wind/solar energy forecasting and optimization. William also worked as a consultant for schedule optimization of satellite infrastructure.

Prior to that, William worked at Kiwigrid GmbH as an Algorithms Developer from October 2014 to February 2017. There, they designed prediction and optimization algorithms for energy usage patterns using Spark and Scipy. William also acted as a liaison between the application and platform teams.

In 2014, William briefly worked at Empow Studios as a Programming Teacher, designing and instructing courses in Python video game programming, LEGO robotics, and Flash animation. William also transitioned the company's content management to web-based systems.

Their early work experience includes a role as a Mathematics Teacher at the Town of Brookline from February 2013 to June 2013. William instructed and designed curriculum material for multiple math classes and designed projects using high-speed video cameras.
