Jan Klerken has extensive experience in the mushroom industry, serving as an Ambassador at Scelta Mushrooms B.V. and Scelta Inside since 1993 and 2019 respectively, where the focus is on processing mushrooms into a variety of products and creating umami-based taste enhancers. As the Founder of Scelta Mycofriends since 2013, Jan develops health-promoting products for both people and animals, termed funginal foods. Additionally, Jan has been an Ambassador at The Scelta Kitchen since 2008, overseeing corporate events and product innovations. From 2019, Jan has also acted as the Founding Father of the Chair Youth, Health & Nutrition at Maastricht University, aiming to improve children's dietary habits, and has contributed as an Ambassador for Kokkerelli and the Kids University for Cooking since 2008, promoting food education among children.
