We've co-constructed a software that helps sports organizations index, manage, distribute, and monetize their videos, live broadcasts and photos on a single platform, enabling their visual storytelling and expanding their online reach and brand. We use AI and data to tag content automatically, which can automate and streamline classification, distribution and production, as well as streamlining video broadcast workflows to better connect ecosystems.

ScorePlay is currently recruiting for a Backend and Integrations Engineer to work in harmony with our development team and ensure our customers have the functionality they need in this dual aspect role. You will be responsible for helping us become technically inseparable with our customers and work through back end engineering tasks and challenges. This role will work closely with our Integrations and Applications engineer and our Head of Engineering on a daily basis.

At ScorePlay you will be joining a growing company, take ownership and autonomy of your work, and contribute to building a product that changes the sports media landscape. We will provide you with a range of tools here at ScorePlay such as Linear, Notion, Claap and Discord to help you with your work.

The position

ScorePlay is currently recruiting for a Backend and Integrations Engineer, you will be reporting into the CTO, but working closely with our customers and external stakeholders as well as providing support and expertise across the development team.

Responsibilities

1. Backend and Application Development
   • Assist in the design, development, monitoring, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines using Go and other relevant technologies.
   • Support the implementation of scalable and efficient solutions to support the functionality and performance requirements of our sports media platform.
   • Help in the design, development, and maintenance of applications and services that enhance the functionality and usability of our sports media platform.
2. Database Management
   • Assist in the design and optimization of database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies for efficient data storage and retrieval.
   • Utilize relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) as appropriate for different use cases.
3. Cloud Computing
   • Support the deployment and management of backend infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, leveraging services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
   • Assist in optimizing cloud resources for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
4. Integration and Collaboration
   • Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless user experience across ScorePlay's product portfolio.
   • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.
5. Testing and Debugging
   • Test and debug your own code, as well as others', to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability across different environments and use cases.
   • Assist in implementing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to validate the correctness and robustness of backend systems.
6. Continuous Improvement
   • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to applications development and integrations.
   • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of our applications and integrations.

Requirements and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Some experience with backend development, preferably with Golang or Python.
• Basic understanding of database management, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, asynchronous processing and cloud monitoring.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with team members and stakeholders.

This position is fully remote and we welcome candidates located in Europe.
