Shona Bell has extensive work experience in various HR and leadership roles. Shona currently serves as the Chief People & Engagement Officer at the Scottish Rugby Union since April 2021. Prior to this, they were the Director of People and Internal Communications from December 2020 to April 2021 and the Director of HR from June 2019 to December 2020 at the same organization.
Before joining the Scottish Rugby Union, Shona held the position of Non-Executive Director (People & Culture) at Inverarity Morton from 2014 to 2019. Shona also worked as an Organizational Development, Talent, and Transformation Consultant at Momentum Consulting (Scotland) Limited from January 2008 to June 2019.
Additionally, they had the role of Interim Head of HR at BARRIE (Chanel) from December 2018 to May 2019 and served as the Head of People, Organizational Capability & Change (HR Director) at Crieff Hydro Hotel and Resort from August 2012 to October 2018.
Shona's career also includes working as a Change Project Manager and Senior HR Business Partner at Scottish Natural Heritage from September 2005 to January 2008. During this role, they developed the first People Strategy for the organization and implemented change projects to support the organization's objectives.
Shona began their career at Marks and Spencer, where they held various HR roles, including HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition, Development, and Business Change Project roles from 1997 to 2005.

Shona Bell attended Tain Royal Academy from 1984 to 1990. Shona then pursued a Master of Arts Honours degree at the University of Glasgow from 1990 to 1994, with a focus on Management Studies and Philosophy.
