Randy Frank

Vice President - Body Systems at Scout Motors

Randy Frank has an extensive work history in the automotive industry. Randy started their career in 1991 as part of Ford Motor Company's College Graduate Training Program, focusing on Body Engineering. From there, they held various roles within the company, including Advanced Engineering in Closures Systems and Knowledge Base Engineering, Product Design and Release Engineer for Body Structures, and Supervisor of Product Development in Body Engineering.

In 2002, Randy became the Chassis CAE, Durability Attribute, Body & Chassis Test and Road Loads Manager. Randy then transitioned to the role of Global Closures Senior Manager, where they had global responsibility for Closures, Sealing, Liftgates, Hoods, and Fenders. Following this, they served as the Global Front End and Underbody Platform/Body CAE Senior Manager, responsible for Body Platforms and Body CAE within Ford Motor Company.

In 2013, Randy became the Chief Engineer of Virtual Verification and CAE, leading the Global Engineering Services group in Chennai, India. Randy was responsible for the virtual verification of future product models worldwide and enabling design verification efficiency through the use of virtual verification tools.

In 2019, Randy joined Rivian as the Vice President of Body Engineering. In this role, they had functional responsibility for all Future Products' Body and Interior Engineering, including concept development, innovation, validation, and launch & delivery. Randy'sresponsibilities encompassed various areas such as BIW, Ladder Frame or Skateboard, Closures, Exterior Ornamentation, Hardware, Sealing, and more.

Currently, Randy holds the position of Vice President - Body Systems at Scout Motors Inc., a role they have been in since 2023.

Randy Frank obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, graduating in 1991. Randy further pursued a Masters degree in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan, completing it in 1996. In 2018, Randy obtained an Architecture and Systems Engineering Certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, they earned a certification in Data Science and Big Data Analytics Making Data-Driven Decisions from the same institution in 2018 as well.
