Ben Demaree has a diverse work experience spanning from 2010 to 2021. In 2010, they worked as an Administrative Assistant in Regulatory Affairs at RS Medical. The following year, they were an Engineering Intern at the same company. In 2012, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Santa Clara University, working on a project to develop a microfluidic device for the detection of arsenic in groundwater sources. In 2013, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, as part of the Amgen Scholars Program, investigating the self-similar properties of vascular networks. In 2014, they began their Ph.D. studies in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Francisco, where they developed a droplet-based multiomic technology for joint profiling of DNA genotypes and immunophenotypes in single cells. Ben also led the transfer of this technology to a clinical research lab for application in studies of anti-leukemic agents. In 2019, they were a Research and Development Intern at Mission Bio, where they developed the company's first single-cell multiomic product. Finally, in 2021, they began working as a Scientist at Scribe Therapeutics.

Ben Demaree obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering from Santa Clara University in 2014. Prior to that, they earned a DALF Advanced French Language Diploma C1/C2 from Centre International D'Études Pédagogiques in 2008. Ben then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco, which they completed in 2020.
