Christine Barton

Operations Manager at SeaQuest

Christine Barton has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Christine started their career as a Peer Tutor at Ocean County College in 2006 and worked there until 2008. In 2009, Christine worked as a Lab Assistant at the Ocean County Mosquito Commission before joining Mad Science as a Mad Scientist, where they taught elementary school children through hands-on demonstrations and experiments.

In 2010, Christine worked as a Research Assistant at Montclair State University, focusing on a research project with amphibians and their interaction with road salt in runoff. Christine collected water samples and conducted laboratory analysis for ion concentrations. The following year, Christine joined the Harding Land Trust as a Stewardship Intern, assisting with easement property monitoring, office work, and creating a database and maps using Arc GIS.

From 2014 to 2017, Christine worked at the Monmouth County Park System in multiple roles. As an Environmental Educator, they presented environmental programs to elementary school children, including hands-on activities and live animal demonstrations. Christine also prepared and presented an original lecture for the open house at Deep Cut Gardens. Christine also served as a Historic Interpreter at Historic Longstreet Farm, giving tours and conducting hands-on activities for children during field trips. Additionally, they were a summer camp counselor, overseeing middle school-aged children in various activities about farm life in the 1890s.

Most recently, Christine worked as an Operations Manager at SeaQuest since November 2019.

Christine Barton obtained their Associate in Arts degree with a concentration in Science from Ocean County College between the years 2006 and 2008. Christine then pursued a Combined B.S/M.S. degree in Aquatic and Coastal Sciences at Montclair State University from 2008 to 2015.
