Luke Kavenagh

Luke Kavenagh has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Luke is currently working at SeatGeek as a Lead Data Scientist since March 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Data Scientist at SeatGeek from October 2021 to March 2023.

Before SeatGeek, Luke worked at Bunch as a Lead Data Scientist from September 2020 to October 2021, where they built the entire data infrastructure from scratch and implemented various tools for analytics and data exploration.

From February 2018 to August 2020, Luke held the position of Senior Data Scientist at Major League Baseball. In this role, they collaborated with teams and clubs to develop fan and game-related analyses and utilized natural language processing techniques for content strategy.

In 2017, Luke worked at Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC as a Risk Associate, where they extended and refactored an automated reporting system, performed risk modeling and analysis.

Earlier in their career, Luke worked at GREE International, Inc as a Business Intelligence Data Scientist where they developed lifetime value models, created ETL processes, and built Tableau dashboards.

Luke also worked as an Associate at Ziff Brothers Investments from 2008 to 2014, where they focused on risk management and trading analysis, building trading algorithms and estimating trading costs.

Luke's work experience also includes a summer internship at CSIRO, Division of Industrial Physics in 2006.

Luke Kavenagh attended the University of Melbourne from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Engineering.
