Derek Figueroa Mba, M.fin

Derek Figueroa, MBA, M.Fin has a diverse and extensive work experience. Derek currently serves as the President & CEO of Seattle Fish Company, leading the post-close continuity of the business and integration into the Founders Group of Food Companies. In addition, Derek is also the President of Lombardi Brothers Meats, responsible for integrating the company into the Founders community and providing strategic and operational leadership. Derek previously held the role of President at Fig & Co. and served as the Board Chair of the National Fisheries Institute. Derek's earlier experience includes serving as President & CEO, President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer at Seattle Fish Company. Derek was also a member of the National Leadership Council at Seafood Nutrition Partnership and a Co-Founder and Board Advisor at Sea Pact. Furthermore, Derek volunteered as an Adaptive Ski Instructor at the National Sports Center for the Disabled for several years.

Derek Figueroa has a diverse education background. Derek obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Colorado Denver. Derek then pursued further education at the University of Colorado, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2005 and a Master of Science (MS) in Finance in 2007. Derek also participated in the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation program, where they obtained a Leadership Denver certificate in 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Derek has pursued various professional certifications. Derek obtained a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer Certificate from CrossFit, LLC in 2021 and a Judge Certification from the CrossFit Games in 2022. Derek also completed the "Executive Presence and Influence: Persuasive Leadership Development" program offered by Wharton Executive Education in 2022. Furthermore, they have obtained various training certifications, including "Heads Up! Concussion in Youth Sports Training for Coaches" from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and "SafeSport Trained" from the US Center for SafeSport, both obtained in 2019. In 2004, Derek became a Professional Ski Instructor with the PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors. Derek also participated in the Legacy Denver program through the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, where they received mentoring and training from professionals Cathy Finlon and George Sparks in 2013 and 2011, respectively.
