Lead Electrical Engineer at Second Order Effects

Nicole L. has been working in various roles since 2017. In 2018, they were a Lab Technician at the Cornell Rapid Prototyping Laboratory, where they operated the lab's laser cutter and various flavors of 3D printers to manufacture parts for project teams, research groups, and students on campus. In 2019, they were an Electrical Sub-team Member at Cornell Baja Racing, where they designed and populated PCBs used to collect data, and made wiring harnesses for use in systems testing. Nicole also worked as a Rock Climbing Instructor at Cornell Outdoor Education that same year. In 2019, they were an Electrical Team Lead and Electrical Sub-team Member at Cornell Formula SAE, where they designed the ARG20 Electronics Control Unit (ECU). In 2020, they were a Teaching Assistant at ECE 5725: Design with Embedded Operating Systems and ECE 3140: Embedded Systems. Nicole was also a Hardware Engineering Intern at Lyft, where they designed and documented an Incoming Quality Check (IQC) test for a Lyft PCBA. In 2021, they are currently an Electrical Engineer at Second Order Effects, Inc.

Nicole L. attended Saratoga High School from 2013 to 2017. Nicole then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University, which they completed in 2020. Nicole then continued their studies at the same university, obtaining a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2021.
