Tim Whitaker

Timothy Whitaker, MD has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. Timothy currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research & Development at Seelos Therapeutics, Inc. since January 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Head of Research & Development at the same company from April 2018 to December 2020. In 2018, Dr. Whitaker also worked as the Acting Chief Medical Officer at Vallon Pharmaceuticals. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at Alder Biopharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Whitaker has previous experience at Shire Pharmaceuticals, where they held various positions including Vice President and Head of Neuroscience Therapeutic Area, Global Clinical Development. Timothy also served as Vice President of Clinical Development & Medical Affairs and Vice President of Global Clinical Research & Development. Prior to working at Shire Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Whitaker worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Director in the Neuroscience Division.

Timothy Whitaker, MD received their Bachelor's Degree from Duke University. Timothy later attended Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Timothy then completed their Residency in Psychiatry and Fellowship in Psychopharmacology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
