Nabil Abadir

Dr. Abadir joined Amarin in April 2022 as Chief Medical Officer and Head of Global Medical Affairs.

Dr. Abadir is a medical doctor with more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Throughout his career he has successfully built and strengthened medical organizations at the local, regional and global level.

Most recently Dr. Abadir served as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Medical Affairs for Novartis Gene Therapies. Prior to Novartis, Dr. Abadir served as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs for Clementia Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology startup acquired by Ipsen. Earlier in his career, Dr. Abadir spent more than 10 years at Merck as Vice President Global Medical Affairs for the Company’s Europe, Canada, Middle East and Africa region based in Switzerland and the previous six years as Vice President, Head of Medical for Schering-Plough Canada.

His extensive experience covers a wide range of therapy areas including Respiratory & Allergy, Oncology, Diabetes & CVS, GIT, Anti-Infective, Genetic Diseases, Women’s Health, Rheumatology & Immunology, CNS and Anesthesia.
