Harendra Guturu

Harendra G. is currently working at Seer as the Sr. Director of Machine Learning since October 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Principal Machine Learning Researcher at Seer from April 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Seer, Harendra worked at Ancestry from May 2016 to March 2021. Initially, they served as a Staff Clinical Informatics Scientist and later as a Senior Staff Computational Informatics Scientist from January 2017 to February 2018. Harendra then became the Manager of Computational Genomics in February 2018 and led a team of Data Scientists and Computational Biologists. Harendra was responsible for delivering DNA-based family history and health insights to millions of customers and expanding the business through partnerships.

From April 2014 to April 2016, Harendra was a Research Scientist at Stanford University's Division of Medical Genetics, Pediatrics. Their work involved designing and developing an automated genome interpretation software suite, enabling faster identification of disease variants.

Harendra's earlier experience includes a research internship at Haystack Observatory in 2007 and a software engineering internship at Cisco in 2006.

Harendra G. has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, with a major in Bioengineering, from the University of California, Berkeley. They also hold a master's and Ph.D. degree from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Genomics.
