SeKON is seeking a Computer Security Systems Specialist (Security Engineer) to support NIH NIDDK IT Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but not limited to)

  • The Security Engineer will serve as a member of the NIDDK Security Team and as a resource for the NIDDK ISSO.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex system security issues.
  • Recommend, design, develop, test, configure, and implement a broad array of system security solutions.
  • Provide support to and collaborate with other IT Operational Service Area (Server/Storage, Network, Service Desk, Application Development) in design, development and testing of solutions, as well as, diagnosing, troubleshooting and remediation of issues.
  • Draft and maintain technical design and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
  • Will document work performed in issue tracking system.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree along with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience in IT customer support or an Associate degree or high school diploma, with at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience.

  • This position requires strong written and verbal technical communication skills, excellent organization and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

  • The Security Engineer should have experience supporting, designing, configuring, implementing and/or administering at least three (3) of the following:

    • Antivirus and malware protection solutions
    • Privileged access management solutions
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions
    • Automation of log collection
    • Analysis of log data
    • Development of monitors and alerts based on security and operational requirements.
    • Vulnerability analysis and remediation solutions
    • Active Directory Group Policy
    • Disk Encryption technologies and solutions.
  • The Security Engineer shall have a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance or obtain a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance within six (6) months of the contract award.

  • The Security Engineer shall have at minimum, a Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3.

  • In addition, the Contractor shall provide personnel who hold one or more of certifications from (ISC) 2, Comp TIA, SANS, or other well recognized certifying body. Sample certifications include:

    • (ISC) 2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Comp TIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
    • MSCE: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (current or current version -1)
