Abhijit Oka

Abhijit Oka has worked in various roles in the data engineering and data science fields since 2010. Abhijit began their career as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where they worked on degradation in Speech Quality over VoIP Networks. In 2012, they became a Business Analyst Intern at Sabre Airline Solutions, where they identified best-practices and configuration in the solution deployment, and improved documentation for the project. That same year, they began working at Predictix, LLC as a Retail Science Consultant, where they designed and implemented enhancements to forecasting mechanisms, and formulated and analyzed configuration changes for pre-processing and transformations for modelling of promotions and causal factors. In 2016, they began working at Infor as a Senior Data Scientist / Engineer, where they re-factored and batch designed on the Production system, served as Level 2 support, and executed massive disaster/data loss recovery. Abhijit also implemented various changes in algorithms to facilitate convergence, partitioning, and error measurement, and designed a multi-objective and constrained price recommendation system for a nation-wide Grocery chain. In 2022, they began working at SemanticBits as a Senior Data Engineer.

Abhijit Oka obtained a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2012. Abhijit also obtained a B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai between 2006 and 2010. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from Coursera, including Computational Investing, Part I, Heterogeneous Parallel Programming, Making Better Group Decisions: Voting, Judgement Aggregation and Fair Division, Microeconomics Principles, and Social and Economic Networks: Models and Analysis.
