Wayne Perry

Head of Product Design at Sendle

Wayne Perry has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various design roles and industries. Wayne is currently serving as the Head of Product Design at Sendle since October 2021, where they lead and mentors a team of three, fosters a collaborative culture, and works with cross-functional leaders to advance product design initiatives. Before this, Wayne worked as a Product Design Lead at Sendle from July 2019 to October 2021, focusing on strategic projects and team management. Prior to Sendle, they held roles such as Senior Product Designer and Stream Lead at Sendle from July 2018 to July 2019, and Senior Product Designer at Sendle from March 2017 to July 2018.

Before joining Sendle, Wayne worked at finder as a Lead UI/UX Designer from December 2013 to March 2017, collaborating with product and engineering teams to design new products. Wayne also has experience at TotallyMoney as a Senior UI/UX Designer from November 2010 to November 2013, where they designed user interfaces and experiences for financial comparison service products. Wayne has further professional experience as a Digital Designer at mooku studio from October 2006 to March 2011, working as a freelancer for various clients in South Africa and the UK. Additionally, they founded and served as a designer for Manology.co.za, an e-commerce site focusing on men's grooming products, from May 2006 to May 2008. Wayne's earlier career included roles at Tragus, where they worked as an Assistant Brand Manager from February 2005 to April 2006, and as a Marketing Assistant from January 2003 to February 2005.

Wayne Perry completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree in Marketing from the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 1996 to 1999. In 2008, they obtained a certificate in Adobe Illustrator Essential Skills from Friends of Design. In 2003, Wayne also earned a certificate in Photoshop Level 1 and Quark Express Level 1 from LondonTech Training. Finally, from 1991 to 1995, they attended Carter High School, where they completed their Matric, focusing on subjects such as English, Afrikaans, Technical drawing, Physics, Accountancy, and Maths.
