Ndegwa Lawrence

Ndegwa Lawrence is currently a People & Culture Associate at Sendy. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer in Test at Safaricom PLC from August 2019 to November 2019. There, they worked largely on financial services products leading Testing and Performance optimization, including the performance testing and optimization of an RPA bot for automated fixed asset capitalization processes, which reduced transactions processing time by 87% for all capitalization. They also wrote and led Unit testing using SonarQube for Mpesa Bill Manager during the integration and User Acceptance testing process for Mpesa Global. In addition, they conducted performance testing of Fuliza using JMeter and Tibco, which enabled overdraft access for millions of API generated transactions and App store purchases.

Before their work at Safaricom PLC, Lawrence was the Projects Co-Chair at JKUAT Society of Engineering Students from February 2019 to October 2019. There, they developed ways for community members to have a place to work on the ideas they have, find partners, solve problems and grow. They also led the community projects and contributed to the open source tools.

Lawrence began their professional career with an internship as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Kenya Power from June 2018 to September 2018.

Ndegwa Lawrence holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. They also have two certifications from LinkedIn, one in Learning MATLAB and the other in Programming Foundations: Software Testing/QA.
