Michael Blum

Michael Blum has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Michael is currently serving as the Research and Development Manager at SeqOne Genomics since 2022. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2022, they worked at Owkin, where they held multiple roles. Michael was the Director of clinical trial solutions R&D, leading a team and proposing AI and Real World Data solutions to optimize clinical trials and provide real-world evidence to pharmaceutical companies. Michael also served as the Lead Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist at Owkin, where they managed and executed data science projects for pharmaceutical companies and research medical centers, focusing on subgroup analysis, adaptive clinical trials, and deep learning analysis with imaging data.

Before joining Owkin, Michael worked at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique from 2006 to 2019, serving as a Senior Researcher and CNRS research associate. Michael headed the Grenoble Alpes Data Institute, organizing scientific conferences and hackathons, managing PhD students, and promoting best practices in data science. Additionally, they worked as a Teacher in data science at Grenoble INP - Ensimag from 2006 to 2019. Michael also gained experience as a Consultant at Probayes in 2010 and as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Michigan in 2006-2007.
