Saeid Kasiri

Saeid Kasiri has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical engineering and medical device development. Saeid is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Sequana Medical NV since June 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Circulate Medical from March 2020. Saeid also worked as a Faculty Member at Swiss Biodesign starting from April 2020.

From December 2019 to March 2020, Saeid held the role of Chief Technology Officer at Loop Medical SA. Before that, they worked at Straub Medical AG (now a BD company) for a substantial period, starting from August 2015. At Straub Medical, they served as an R&D new product development project manager and later as an R&D Engineer/Project Leader.

Saeid also has experience working as a Senior R&D Engineer at Vetex Medical Ltd. in 2015 and from March 2012 to May 2014. Saeid contributed to the development of a novel electro mechanical catheter based device for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis during their tenure at Vetex Medical.

Furthermore, Saeid worked briefly as an R&D Engineer at Medtronic Vascular from May 2014 to November 2014. Saeid also spent time as an independent research consultant, providing their expertise as a Biomedical Engineer from January 2011 to March 2012.

Saeid's early career involved working as a Research Engineer/Project Manager at Trinity College Dublin from June 2008 to November 2010. During this time, they focused on developing a peripheral stent for the superficial femoral artery and utilized finite element modeling to understand the interaction between stent design and the artery.

Overall, Saeid Kasiri's experience encompasses leadership roles in engineering and technology, as well as research and development in the medical device industry.

Saeid Kasiri holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, which they completed from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Sharif University of Technology, where they obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering/Solid Mechanics from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, Saeid earned an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the same university during the period of 1994 to 1999.

In terms of additional certifications, Saeid Kasiri obtained the Innosuisse Business Creation Medtech certification from Venturelab in October 2020.
