Shloak Mehta

Shloak Mehta has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2015, they started with an internship at the Bristol Robotics Lab, working on a Swarm Robotics Project supervised by Dr. Sabine Hauert. Later that year, they joined the University of Bristol Consulting Society as a Business Strategy Consultant, where they worked on a project with PwC and a technology startup in Bristol.

In 2016, Shloak had an internship at Atkins, where they focused on Health, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Mechanical Design Engineering for Dubai Metro Stations and Dubai Airport. Shloak utilized principles of Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics and created various calculators for pipe-sizing, air flow, heat flow, and noise attenuation. Shloak also gained experience using HAP Carrier to test cooling performance.

In 2017, Shloak worked for The Alternative Limb Project as the Mechanical Sub-Team Lead, designing and building prosthetic legs that reflected clients' individuality and personality. Shloak collaborated with a team of 10 students and worked with a bilateral AK paralympian. Shloak'sresponsibilities included CAD, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and raising the profile and confidence of amputees.

From 2017 to 2018, Shloak joined the Robot Intelligence Lab at Imperial College as an MSc Bipedal Robotics Researcher. During this time, they focused on researching and developing bipedal robotic systems.

In 2018, Shloak worked as a Research Associate at The University of Manchester and as an Automation Research Associate at Procter & Gamble. At both positions, they gained valuable research experience.

In 2019, Shloak embarked on two simultaneous roles, starting as an MRC/Blatchford PhD Student at Imperial College London and as an MRC PhD Student at Blatchford. Shloak also took on the role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Imperial College London.

In 2022, they joined SERG Technologies as a Research Assistant.

Shloak Mehta has a diverse education history. Shloak completed their MSc in Human and Biological Robotics from Imperial College London in 2018. Before entering university, Shloak attended Leicester Grammar School for their secondary school education and sixth form studies from 2007 to 2014. During their time at Leicester Grammar School, they also took a short course in Human Genetics and Health Issues at The Open University in 2012.
