Tech Director - Mobile Gaming

We are seeking an experienced technology leader who excels in both crafting code and architecting sophisticated data analytics, building test plans, directing player support services, and embedding AI across operations to refine and enhance gaming experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the driving force behind the development, execution, and innovation of technology strategies, ensuring alignment with overall mobile game project objectives.
• Lead and manage a remote team of engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and feedback to ensure high-quality software standards.
• Write code, resolve bugs, and perform code reviews to maintain and elevate software quality.
• Manage the QA team, including designing and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure flawless game performance, functionality, and user experience.
• Provide leadership to the community service team.
• Construct and manage optimized data summaries from extensive data warehouses, enabling actionable insights for game improvement and player satisfaction.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative and product teams, to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
• Propelling player support services to new heights by integrating advanced technologies and developing strategies to enhance player engagement and support.
• Harness the power of AI to innovate tools and processes, offering cutting-edge solutions across all disciplines, including engineering, QA, and player services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in software engineering, with a focus on mobile gaming technologies and a solid track record of hands-on development.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing cross-functional technology teams in a fast-paced and creative environment.
• Strong proficiency in mobile development languages and frameworks, along with a deep understanding of game architecture and design principles.
• Expertise in backend technologies, particularly Java Tomcat, with proficiency in Python and Node.js as a plus.
• Extensive experience with AWS or other cloud services, particularly DynamoDB and Redshift.
• Solid understanding of data analytics pipelines and related technologies.
• Familiarity with creating and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure software reliability and quality assurance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a knack for mentoring teams and cultivating a dynamic, innovative work environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in implementing AI and ML technologies to streamline operations and enhance gaming experiences is a plus.
• Experience with Unity is required, experience with Cocos2d-x a plus.
