James London has extensive experience in financial crime advisory and policy development. Currently serving as a Manager in the Financial Crime Advisory Team at the Financial Conduct Authority since October 2020, James focuses on reforming the SARs regime and implementing the UK Government's Economic Crime Plan. James has also held significant roles, including a Major in the Army Legal Service and a Councillor for Sevenoaks District Council since 1995. Previously, James managed Financial Crime Policy at the Financial Conduct Authority from 1997 to 2018, and served as Deputy Head at the Home Office, addressing counter-terrorism financing. Academic credentials include a Master of Laws from Queen Mary University of London, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hull, and completion of the Solicitors Finals Examination at the College of Law.
