Stephen Marcella

Director, Global Observational Research And Epidemiology- Health Outcomes at Shionogi

Stephen Marcella has a diverse work experience in the field of epidemiology and health outcomes. Stephen most recently served as the Director of Global Observational Research and Epidemiology- Health Outcomes at Shionogi Inc. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Outcomes Research at Merck Pharmaceuticals, where they led the Value Evidence Sub team for the Clostridium difficile Infection drug portfolio. Stephen also worked as a Consultant in Global Health Outcomes at Merck Sharp & Dohme. Additionally, they have held academic positions at Rutgers University and UMDNJ School of Public Health, where they served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Assistant Professor of Epidemiology respectively. At UMDNJ, they were also involved in teaching and research related to epidemiology studies and clinical practice. Stephen has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where they were responsible for teaching medical residents and students.

Stephen Marcella attended Cook College, Rutgers University from 1973 to 1977, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. After this, they pursued their medical education at New York University Medical School from 1979 to 1983, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine.
