James Langer

James Langer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2012, they worked as an Economics Tutor at the University of Cape Town. From June to December 2013, they served as an Assistant Manager at Namizimu Forest Retreat. In 2014, James founded SmartPrep, a leading university test and exam prep company in South Africa, where they initially worked as a solopreneur before scaling the business and taking on the role of Founder-CEO & Director. James remained with SmartPrep until the present, continuously scaling the company and expanding into multiple markets.

In 2020, James co-founded and became a Strategic Advisor for GoFunda NPC, a non-profit organization providing tutoring services to underprivileged university students. James played a crucial role in launching the organization and setting up its vision, goals, strategy, and structure. Presently, they work as a fellow at the Entrepreneurial Leadership Program of AustrianStartups, where they focus on honing their entrepreneurial skills.

In addition to their entrepreneurial endeavors, James has taken on various teaching roles. James worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Markets and Strategy class at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) from October 2021 to February 2022. James also serves as an External Lecturer and Trainer at WU. Furthermore, in 2021, James worked as a Moderator and Host, demonstrating their communication and presentation skills.

To enhance their event management skills, James served as a Conference Event Manager for Entrepreneurship Avenue, Europe's largest start-up event series for students, where they helped plan and organize events, built relationships with high-profile speakers, and managed event logistics.

In 2022, James joined Shopstory as a Senior Strategic Project Manager and later transitioned to the role of Senior Expansion Manager in 2023.

James Langer earned a Bachelor of Business Science specializing in Marketing from the University of Cape Town, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. James went on to pursue a Masters in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control (SIMC) at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) from 2020 to 2022.
