Cara Dearman

Cara Dearman serves as the Associate General Counsel and Senior Director, Head of Privacy at Shutterfly Inc. since December 2022. Concurrently, Cara holds an adjunct professor position in Privacy Law at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, teaching courses on data privacy law and management. With extensive experience in privacy and data law, Cara has held leadership roles such as Head of Global Privacy at CDW and Data Privacy Officer at RSM US LLP, where significant privacy programs were designed and implemented. Previous roles include Assistant General Counsel for Privacy at Sears Holdings Corporation, legal editor at Thompson Reuters, and litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Cara is also an accomplished public speaker on topics related to technology, privacy, and law. Education credentials include a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Trinity University.
