Lachlan Neill

Chief Engineer at Siem Offshore

Lachlan Neill has worked as a Chief Engineer at Siem Offshore since November 2017. Before that, they were a 1st Engineer at Programmed Marine from May 2017 to January 2018. Lachlan was a 2nd Engineer at Farstad Shipping (Indian Pacific) Pty Ltd from December 2013 to January 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a 2nd Engineer at Offshore Marine Services (OMS) from August 2012 to December 2013, and at Swire Pacific Offshore from January 2012 to February 2012.

Lachlan Neill's education history begins in 2005 when they attended Napier Boys High School and obtained their NCEA Level 2 qualification. In 2009, they enrolled at the New Zealand Maritime College Auckland and pursued a Diploma in Marine Engineering, which they completed in 2011. During the same period, they also obtained the MEC 3 STCW Reg III/1 Class 3 EOOW Unlimited certification from Maritime New Zealand.

In 2016, Lachlan returned to the New Zealand Maritime College and completed a Class 2 Marine Engineer degree. Additionally, they received the MEC 2 Marine Engineer Unlimited certification from Maritime New Zealand in the same year.

Most recently, from 2019 to 2021, Lachlan studied at the New Zealand Maritime College and earned a Diploma in Foreign-Going Chief in Marine Engineering. Lachlan further enhanced their qualifications by obtaining the MEC 1 Marine Engineer Unlimited certification from Maritime New Zealand in June 2021.

Lachlan Neill also holds several additional certifications, including the AMSA Medical certification from Amsa which they obtained in February 2017. In 2015, they obtained the Norwegian Certificate of Medical Fitness - Seafarers. Additionally, they received the Marine Engineer Class 3 (Motor) certification from the Government of Western Australia in 2011.
