Matti Varjokallio

Matti Varjokallio has diverse work experience in the fields of AI, speech recognition, software development, and research. Matti is currently working as a Senior AI Scientist at Silo AI since April 2021. Prior to that, from September 2019 to February 2021, they worked as a Speech Scientist at Speechly. Matti also served as a Senior Software Developer at Nightingale Health Oy from February 2017 to August 2019, where they developed software for the laboratory process.

Matti Varjokallio has a strong academic background and worked as a Doctoral Candidate at Aalto University, Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics from January 2013 to December 2018, conducting research for their D.Sc. thesis. Matti also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Saarland University from November 2015 to February 2016.

In addition, Matti Varjokallio has industry experience as the CTO and partner at Pattern Factory from November 2009 to May 2018, where they were responsible for software development and participated in product planning. Matti worked as a Speech recognition specialist at Lingsoft from March 2009 to November 2012, and as a Software specialist at Nokia Siemens Networks from November 2008 to October 2009.

Prior to this, Matti obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Communications Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan in 2007. In 2004 and 2005, they studied Computer Science and Telecommunications at the Technical University of Munich.
