Silvera for Seniors is currently hiring and we are looking for a Casual Community Night Attendant for our Supportive Living Communities, homed at our Beaverdam Commons Community located at 2012 66 Ave SE.

Job Objective

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor the Community Night Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during their night shift. This position is responsible to provides solutions to any emergency situations that may arise and completing the paperwork. With the new laundry program, it’s a requirement to perform the necessary tasks during their shifts.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the daily cleaning of resident units including bed-making, linen and towel change.
• Responsible for the laundry and cleanliness of all common areas and flooring.
• Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift.
• Resolves any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
• Reports any safety issues to the Community Manager and is knowledgeable in emergency procedures and can act accordingly.
• Process Resident Laundry for all Residents enrolled in the laundry service package. This includes wash, dry, fold and deliver.
• Maintain cleanliness of laundry area.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1-year experience into housekeeping/room attending experience is essential.
• Must possess a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
• Good communication skills, basic computer skills and excellent customer service skills, pleasing attitude and the ability to relate to seniors.
• Must have Food Handling course, WHMIS, and First Aid or willing to take.
Working Environment
• Must be comfortable and willing to work alone.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines, on occasion work within somewhat stressful situations.
• Having your own reliable vehicle is preferred as some travel within Calgary maybe required

Hours of Work
11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Must be able to commit to the "CASUAL EMPLOYMENT MODEL" as per below:

Casual employees will not have any guaranteed work hours each pay period and will be called to work when needed. The Employee Scheduler will send emails to multiple staff offering same shifts, in order to get shifts covered right away. Shifts are first come first served thus the reason no guaranteed hours.Casual employees must have availability to work at a minimum of 4 days per week including some weekends• Casual employees must be willing to work (and be trained) in multiple positions• Casual employees must be willing to work and support all Silvera Communities in all quadrants of Calgary**• Casual employees must work minimum shifts and must not refuse to take shifts offered without a valid reason and approval. Casual employee’s employment, after three refusals to take up shift(s) or for not working any shift(s) within 3 months, may be terminated with Silvera for Seniors due to “abandonment of position”• Casual employees must report any time off request to the Employee Scheduler at least 2 weeks in advance.• Casual employees are not entitled to any benefits other than vacation pay.**
