Director HR Europe at Simpson Strong-Tie

Miia Holopainen has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and industries. Miia currently serves as the Director HR Europe at Simpson Strong-Tie, where they are responsible for developing and implementing the HR strategy for the European region. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Corporate HR at SIGVARIS GROUP, where they led the global HR strategy and served as an HR Business Partner for the Group CEO. Miia also worked as the VP Human Resources Europe at Novelis, overseeing HR operations across the region. Before that, they held leadership roles in talent management at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and SHL Group. Their earlier career includes positions as a Project Manager at Danzas, an HR Consultant and Team Leader at Nokia, and a Research Assistant at the Research Institute for Olympic Sports. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in HR strategy, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.

Miia Holopainen has a Masters Degree in Psychology from Joensuu University (Finland) obtained from 1993 to 1998. In the same period from 1994 to 1998, they also pursued a European Masters Degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Jyväskylä University (Finland). Additionally, they studied Sport Psychology at Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln in 1998. In 2012, they earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Lean Six Sigma. Miia also holds a Diploma in Supervision from Management Development Institute Finland obtained from 2000 to 2002. Miia has acquired several additional certifications, including "The Neuroscience of Change" and "The Power of Embodied Transformation" from Coaches Rising, "Neuroscience for Business" from MIT Sloan School of Management, "Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies" from the University of Cambridge, "Human Resources Foundations," and "Managing Diversity" from LinkedIn.
