Dr Philip Smith

Dr Philip Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Dr Philip has worked as an independent researcher, focusing on accounting and performance management. Additionally, they have held various positions with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), including serving as the Chair of the Business Performance Community and the Business and Management Faculty.

Dr Smith has also been involved in the logistics industry, where they served as the Chair and major shareholder of H Young Logistics Ltd. Dr Philip has also worked as a turnaround specialist for Forster Smith Ltd.

In the past, Dr Smith held executive positions in the corporate world. Dr Philip was the Executive Chairman and major shareholder of Hammond Logistics Group, where they played a crucial role in improving the company's performance and eventually securing a favorable exit. Dr Philip also served as the Finance Director of Leicester Tigers Rugby Club plc, where they helped secure the club's independence and viability during its transition to professional status.

Earlier in their career, Dr Smith worked as the proprietor of Philip Smith & Co, providing strategic financial and commercial advice to various organizations. Dr Philip also served as the Managing Director and proprietor of DHI Kitchens, leading the turnaround of the consumer goods company.

Dr. Philip Smith has an extensive education history. Dr Philip attended the University College London from 1968 to 1971, where they earned a BA (Hons) degree in Ancient History with a 2-1 grade. Following this, from 1971 to 1974, they attended the ICAEW and achieved ACA First time passes, focusing on Accounting. In 1977, they enrolled in the Manchester Business School and completed an MBA degree. Finally, from 2001 to 2007, Dr. Smith studied at the Cranfield School of Management, earning a DBA - Executive Doctorate degree in Management Accounting and Operations.
