Jirka Poropudas

Jirka Poropudas has a diverse work experience. Jirka started their career at European Sports Betting Consultants Oyj in 2009 as a Consultant. After that, they worked as a Statistical expert at Pöyry in 2010 for a short period. In 2012, they worked as a Consultant at Pöyry before moving on to become the Director of Analytics at SportIQ in 2013. In 2017, Jirka founded NBA-tuokio and took on the roles of Founder, Co-host, and Artistic Director. Recently, they have been working as a Data Analytics Consultant at the Football Association of Finland since 2020. In addition to their professional experiences, Jirka also worked at Aalto University School of Science, where they had multiple roles such as Lecturer, Researcher, and Research Assistant from 2002 to 2012.

Jirka Poropudas has a strong academic background in the fields of Operations Research and Systems Analysis, Applied Math, and Statistics. Jirka began their education at Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu, where they completed their Matriculation exam in 1998. Continuing their studies, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Operations Research and Systems Analysis, Applied Math, Math, and Statistics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan between 1998 and 2005. Jirka further pursued their education at Aalto University School of Science, where they obtained a Doctor of Technology (Dr. (Tech.)) degree in Operations Research and Systems Analysis, Applied Math from 2005 to 2011. Concurrently, they also completed a Master of Social Sciences (M.Soc.Sc.) degree in Statistics from the University of Helsinki between 2008 and 2011. Overall, Jirka Poropudas possesses a comprehensive educational background with a focus on quantitative analysis and mathematical modeling.
