Ragnar Karlsson

Ragnar Karlsson has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Ragnar started their career in 2001 at Games Workshop, where they held various roles in web design, development, team leadership, and sales. In 2013, they joined The Coal Authority as an Information Assurance and Business Continuity Manager, responsible for maintaining the organization's web presence and ensuring high-quality content updates. Ragnar then moved to the Associated British Foods IT Shared Service Centre, where they worked as a Risk Assurance Lead, managing the development of the risk management framework and supplier assurance. Ragnar also served as a Security Operations Manager, overseeing the Cyber Security Operations teams and driving continuous improvement. In their most recent role at Siteimprove, starting in 2022, Ragnar is the Director of Cyber Security, leading the detection and response to cyber security events, improving visibility, and developing the security operations team.

Ragnar Karlsson obtained a Beng Electronic and Software Engineering degree from the University of Aberdeen from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, they attended the High School of Dundee from 1991 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Ragnar has obtained various certifications including (ISC)² Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) Specialization, Cryptography, Identifying, Monitoring, and Analyzing Risk and Incident Response and Recovery, Networks and Communications Security, Systems and Application Security, Access Controls, and Security Operations and Administration from Coursera. Ragnar also holds the BSI Lead Implementer: ISO/IEC 22301 and BSI Lead Implementer: ISO/IEC 27001 certifications from British Standards Institute BSI-KSA, obtained in 2016 and 2015 respectively.
