Steve Silva has over 30 years of experience in various roles related to firmware and software engineering. Steve is currently a Principal Firmware Engineer at SK hynix memory solutions inc., where they are responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of platform firmware for Solid State Drives. Steve also serves as the technical lead for the Platform Firmware Design Team.
Prior to their current position, Steve worked as a Senior Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology and WD, a Western Digital company. At Hewlett-Packard, they held multiple roles including Senior Engineer/Architect, System/Software Engineer V, Client/Server Software Engineer, Software Design Engineer, and Software Engineer.
Steve's career began at the Army Research Lab as an Application Developer before they transitioned to a Programmer role at New Mexico State University.

Steve Silva earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1990. Their studies focused on electromagnetics and digital design. Steve then pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science at the same university, completing their degree in 1994. Their areas of specialization during their master's program included operating systems, graphics, and user interfaces.
