JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Engineer role focuses on principles and practices across product delivery, end-to-end quality practices and control.

A  Quality Engineer also assists in monitoring phases of the development process to ensure that the delivery adheres to company quality standards. It's vital for releases to meet target dates and commitments, they helps meet milestones by assisting in breaking down the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any corrective actions and  impediments back to stakeholders

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Day to Day

    • An owner and advocate of product quality across squads and tribes

    • Understand flow of code and how it interacts with various components

    • Understand impact of product objectives and it’s delivery

    • Providing guidance and driving quality assistance methodology across squads and tribes

    • Investigate failures/issues provided by customers, support, test runs and provide appropriate feedback and corrective solutions to stakeholders

    • Develop and implement quality control systems for both functional and non-functional requirements

    • Plan, create and manage quality planning and reporting strategy

  • Technical Duties

    • Design and implement automated tests across product delivery

    • Perform manual and automated testing across product delivery

    • Own coding internal tools such as automation framework and continue to extend and enhance our internal tooling

    • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend corrective solution

    • Continuous improvement on practices with regards design, development, quality and deployment

    • Proactively inspect and adapt on continuous improvement practices - how can we make this better

  • Communication & Leadership Duties

    • Collaborate with product management, designers, development team across squads/tribes to ensure consistent execution

    • Driving and advocate quality practices - Testing Kick off, Shift Left, Quality Assistance across product delivery

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of experience in both in Automation testing and Manual testing

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Good time management and organizational skills.

  • The ability to keep current with the constantly changing technology industry.

  • A passion for testing, development, and design.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with software development practices

  • Familiar with automation testing of mobile applications (Cucumber, Appium, Selenium...)

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Exceptional attention to details

  • The ability to recognize risks and errors in an application.

  • Knowledge of programming languages and process and test management methodology.

  • Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools.

  • Exposure to Behavior Driven Development and experience in programming and testing.
