Lauren Shanahan

Senior Research Associate at Skyhawk Therapeutics

Lauren Shanahan has held a variety of roles in the biotechnology and healthcare industries since 2014. In 2014, they were an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the University of Rhode Island, a SURF (Student Undergraduate Research Fellow) at RI-INBRE, and a Research Intern at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 2015, they were a Health Services Laboratory Intern at the University of Rhode Island and a Research Associate I at BERG Health. Lauren then worked as a Research Associate II at BERG Health from 2016-2020 before becoming a Research Associate III at Skyhawk Therapeutics in 2020. In their roles, they have designed and conducted molecular and cellular biology experiments, developed and optimized cell-based and biochemical assays, managed compound libraries, characterized relevant cell model systems, and studied protein behavior in different disease models.

Lauren Shanahan obtained their High School Diploma from North Attleboro High School in 2012. Lauren then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology, General from the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 2016. In March 2019, they obtained certifications in CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association's Professional Education Center.
