Before Microsoft, Harpreet co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Genesis Custom Consultants. Harpreet successfully grew the boutique Business Intelligence and Customer Relationship Management consulting practice, acquiring long-term clients and achieving substantial profit growth.

Earlier in their career, Harpreet worked at MicroStrategy, where they held engineering and product leadership positions.

In 1998, Harpreet obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Their undergraduate studies were conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, where they graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Computer Science.
