Michael Wachal

Michael Wachal has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michael is currently working as a Principal Product Manager at Skytap since September 2019. Prior to that, they had a long career at Microsoft, where they held various roles. Michael worked as a Senior Program Manager in SQL Server from October 2005 to May 2014, responsible for maintaining system health for Azure SQL DB. Michael also served as a Supportability Program Manager, acting as a liaison between Microsoft Office Customer Support and Product Development teams, from June 2002 to October 2005. Before that, Michael worked as a Support Engineer, providing customer support services for Microsoft Access from September 1997 to June 2002.

Prior to their time at Microsoft, Michael worked as an Independent Consultant, providing consulting and application development services as a Microsoft Access Application Developer from June 1996 to August 2001. Michael also had a brief role as a Support Engineer - Contract at Volt from February 1997 to September 1997.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked as a Research Microbiologist at Seattle Biomedical Research Institute from June 1993 to February 1997. Their responsibilities included independent and supervised research, training assistants, and troubleshooting IT issues. Michael also worked as a Research Microbiologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from August 1990 to June 1993, managing laboratory operations and computerizing procedures.
